He teaches both the Traditional Lightning Scientific Arnis system which emphasizes deep understanding of classical core principles and root mechanics. As well as more contemporary approach under the Lightning Combatives heading which focuses on simpler solutions derived from the traditional techniques but adapted for the street. Master Jon has trained military pizzakurier bern , law enforcement, and security personnel in edged and impact weapon training.

His background also includes muay thai, western boxing, sanda, wrestling, jujutsu, capoeira, fencing, kung fu and chenjiaguo taijiquan which he continues to practice to this day.
